That’s back azzwards!Ebay buyers who commit to buy, and before paying, they ask for a discount
I do not shop on ebay....... but if you commit, don't you have to pay then?Ebay buyers who commit to buy, and before paying, they ask for a discount
wow, sounds complicated + there is new eBay fees right?Yes, that's how my sales are set up, it's not a sale until you pay. But if you send an offer to an interested buyer, and he/she accepts, they get 48 hours to pay. That's what happened in this case
How do you then pay for purchases on eBay now?Actually there are no new fees. Now, instead of paying 10% to eBay, and 3% to PayPal, eBay takes the 13% off the sale price, and they send the remaining to the sellers bank account directly. Basically they took PayPal out of the equation, and now they make more money. In the end it works out the same for the seller
Thanks for the infoI pay my purchases with PayPal. As I understand it, ebay handles the money from the seller side, not the buyer, and it's the seller who pays the 3% merchant fees. So eBay is making more money in the transaction, PayPal is making less money, and the seller is paying the same in fees when it's all set and done
Amazon, but that is because they host small businesses there right, not private sellers?True, but they're not twisting our arms to sell in their platform. I rather sell locally, through Offer Up, Craigslist, or one of those platforms, but my listings will not get the views that they get on eBay. It's the cost of doing business, and one chooses to list or not.
Have you ever sold on Amazon? Their fees are unreal, plus they charge you $40 and up to per month, to allow you to sell in their platform.
Or just go down on the corner......and skip all fees all togetherYes, but really makes no difference. You can set up a legal business online in about 5 minutes

Amazon does that? And then put them out of business on a whim...
