I got another one.... I have a puzzle I have been working on for a few weeks when I have a spare few minutes. Helps me relax a bit. Its been on a table the whole time. The other night my daughter and her friend were working on it for a total of about 3 minutes before they gave up. Just now Duke, the Boston, comes into the office with 3 puzzle pieces in his mouth chewed up. He likes to pick stuff up off the floor and try to eat it..... Do the math
YES!Can we get the mods to close out the 10 different madman badman threads. Move all to one. ..
What kind of puzzle you working on?I hate to say it but MY PAIN IS WORSE THAN YOUR PAIN lol lol
Not really a GMG, maybe a SMH but really I don't care, just don't know if I'm not getting it or they aren't...
Be it here, ebay, or elsewhere, people selling a collection of items as a set and refusing to entertain the idea of breaking it up.
Doing so really limits your potential customer base. People may only be interested in some of the set or the higher price of all those things added together ends up being out of many people's price range. Or both. You're really limiting yourself only to people who want it all, have the $$ for it, and are ready to buy.
In general sets should be priced better than the items priced individually, so you'd make more money selling them individually. And if your set price is the same as individual prices added up, that lessens the incentive.
I can see sticking to selling as a set maybe if selling part of a set leaves the remaining items much less likely to sell by themselves, i.e. you'll be stuck with them unless they go with the set. And also it's easier to do everything in a single business transaction, if easy is important.
Perhaps there's some sentimentality around keeping it together as a set? If so, then why sell? There's no guarantees around what the buyer will do with it, nor would it matter; it's not yours anymore.
But what I see happen more often than not is either it just doesn't sell, or the seller eventually caves and agrees to break up the set. And sometimes by then buyers have moved on and found the item somewhere else, are no longer interested.
I mean, if you're really adamant about selling it as a set and you're in no hurry, can wait until the right buyer comes along, fine. But if you have an urgent need to sell them, shouldn't you be more open to other options?
Again really I don't care; people can do what they want with their stuff and I'm not chasing after anything right now; I just don't get it...
