I often post about the German Christmas foods I enjoy but I also have a longstanding tradition of Italian foods then too. Amaretti soffici are a particular favourite, particularly those Virginia ones - I’m still waiting on strawberry and blueberry flavours.

Restaurant fare. Charcuterie Board (meat is always good…) and a Quail (…the Wife’s idea…not mine. Just a scrawny chicken in my opinion).

Later…the the heat failed in our hotel room…had to move to another room and for our troubles they sent up a charcuterie board, bottle of champagne, and a chocolate bomb (as they knew it was my birthday tomorrow) …all good
