I've never heard of Halo Burger; are they pretty big up there?

No, not really. I know of 3 within 50 miles of me. Not because I sought them out. I was driving around looking for food and stopped there.

This was good but it wasn't better than 5 Guys, or Burgrz.

I gobbled it all before I could snap a pic, but I had some excellent chicken Pad Thai and pork Gang Gai from a little hole in the wall Thai place nearby.

My lips are on fire. So good.

Yesterday my Italian GF and I drove to a Sicilian Festival in San Diego's Little Italy......no pics but woofed a few Hot Italian sausages on a roll w/ grilled onions and peppers, Sicilian pizza, Cartoccio di Ricotta, Arancine (deep fried rice balls w/ meat filling), some chocolate dipped strawberries and bananas (not italian but killer!) then one last sausage sandwich and finished up with some local spaghetti by my shop in Ontario CA. What a day. If i knew the stuff was going to be so good, i would have ordered double and took some home!!!

WIth all the repairs and remodeling going on in the house right now, I didn't cook at all last week, and I've only got three meals for to cook for this week. Here was last night; quick, simple, and good.

Spaghetti and meatballs with vodka sauce:

Tonight's dinner is gonna be a lot more work...

Vodka sauce?

Yeah, it's a tomato and cream sauce with typical italian herbs. There is vodka in it but you don't taste it - it's supposed to release extra flavors from the tomato.

It's our standard go-to because The Wife doesn't like normal tomato spaghetti sauce, really more to do with her aversion to the color red than the actual taste...
