Last night grilled some steaks, thick cut select grade NY strips. Mushrooms and onions stir fried with BBQ sauce...

And mine was "proper" rare, of course. The Wife's was also perfectly medium rare, but I didn't take a pic of the cut of that one...

A proper rare is much harder to do than well done IMO. Out of the hundreds of places I'm sure I've ordered a rare steak from I can count on one hand how many have ever gotten it right.
