I think good old Racing Jackets would be a good choice as well.

Good protection…. also from sides, designed to go under a helmet and have holes for retaining straps.
And strong full rim frame that can handle all kinds of little accidents.

I don't do kayaking myself, but Racing Jackets are my go-to choice for biking.

Yeah - actually called Water Jacket! Defo a good option!
