you can achieve a brilliant black chrome that is insanely durable by powder coating them. Same as car rims...Just have to be careful of the hinge points and threaded areas...nothing a small bit of tape won't help...

dr.chop hmm...since the frame is an X-metal finish...powder coating would end up saving some $$$ if I had to polish them...
