Custom Jury Ostrich Leather Band

I made this watch band a while back after the original band fell apart. I used the original hardware + dark brown dyed ostrich foot leather because the shingled pattern resembles the curves on the watch face; Hand made without any proper leather tools so its not perfect but it does the job! The original Jury watch was a gift from my dad to my uncle about 20 years ago, then gifted back to me once the band fell apart.

As long as you are happy with it that's all that counts. From what I can see those stitches look pretty darn straight...looks good to me.

Ostrich is a great looking leather. Used it myself on more than a couple projects.

I’m not a watch snob or anything BUT, typically, Black watches with brown leather straps just don’t go hand in hand for my eyes (nor my wrist); HOWEVER, I think whatever dye you used cast a magic spell for me or something.

Beyond Bespoke!

Absolutely love it! Sweet piece. After some time, the patina will shine through. You gotta update showcasing how beautifully it ages.

Thank you for sharing

thanks! I tried my best, these were a second iteration actually, first go-around sucked. Have you made bands yourself or have you used the ostrich on other leather work?

Bands, Pouches, and most recently I wrapped a MARS in ostrich.

I have a DIY Thread on here where I detail all my tinkerings 😏👍

great work! Love the Ai ostrich lol, I want to experiment with stingray next

Ohh….can I talk ya out of it? Seriously…StingRay is the most miserable, hardest to work with leather of any on the planet…and I ain’t being melodramatic (well…maybe a little 😏).

If you search on my DIY thread for stingray you’ll get some background on why I say that…just sayin’ 🤕 heck just Google stingray leather DIY and you’ll see what I mean 😳
