Different sizing of Penny nose bridge pin!?

I always thought that the nose bridge pins for the x-metals were the same size, just different colours (obviously).

But when I sent a pair of pennys to be tuned, I was told that the pin size was different from the linegear sizes and didn't fit, so the original pins had to be reused. I don't think it mattered, because the pins weren't damaged.

It was a polished with black iridium set with serial PB021476.

Does anyone have any advice or experience on this issue (besides saying they're a fake pair)?

I've never done a penny so I cant help there but I have reused pins plenty of times with no issue so that's ok. As long as they don't **** them up getting them out, there should be no issue reusing them.

All X-metal pins are .081" in diameter.mars pins are the only ones that are different but Only in length.

The main portion of and oem pin is right around 2.07mm with the ribbed part slightly larger to lock the pin in place. I have noticed penny nose bridges seem to be slightly thicker overall compared to juliet and xx and such. As the pins are normally just barely flush on the outside when installed. Whereas the same pin installed in a juliet will stick out slightly in the front.
