Good find, those look interesting. I was hoping Oakley would be releasing an all new model, not just the same models with carbon fiber. Hopefully there are others in the works. The Silver F seems like portions of the earstems would make contact with the backsides of the lenses if any amount of pressure is put on them when folded.

Well we have the one that Cav was wearing is stage one of the TDF this year for sure that isn't a definitive as to what new features it utilizes. The OP who started that thread did suggest there might be more to come that is new, so we'll see. I think they are testing the carbon technology and other aspects from those in the article with existing frames to see if new designs are feasible. Like when the car makes shove prototype engines in current body cars and test drive before the next generation car is reveled all together.

That article makes the technology sound sophisticated. But what is really happening is Oakley is digressing to old technology previously used by lesser manufacturers. They are using new materials but that's not helping the fact that Oakley is trying to make their items cheaper.

Damnit Jim...why couldn't you just keep Oakley, or sold it to someone who actually cares about quality!

The days of x metals and the Elite line are gone forever!

Is it just me or does the "folding feature of the silver F look pointless? For optical alignment? If the nose bridge doesn't fold with the arms, then the folded glasses are the same size as traditional glasses.

They're making alot of carbon fiber-legged frames this year including the tincan and tin foils. New rx too. Wasn't blown away with them so didn't care to remember all the names.

Folding stems against each other is one of the things that causes the slight tilt to frames. Leave them folded and stored and the frame takes a slight set.
