First lesson today

Started with letting the clutch out in first and letting it roll by itself and steering in a parking lot...

Then rolling out, turning into a street and shifting through third gear...

He drove about a mile and a half from the elementary school to my dad's house

Definitely best to learn in a manual. I reluctantly made the switch to automatic with the current car because you just can’t get manual gearboxes in the bigger BMWs over here any more, even the M-cars.

The dual clutch transmissions are now so good and shift faster than any driver is able to shift by hand.
And all this without any loss of torque.
I prefer a automatic transmission over a manual shift any day.

I will NEVER EVER clutch a freaking car to and from work in this garbage Houston Traffic anymore...

The latest cars don’t use the DCT though, they use the same ZF 8 speed I have in my diesel 5.

Good for him! Cool it's got the Viper seats too. My buddy had a black one back in the day...
