What's On Your Plate???

I cooked this one last week, chop steak topped with compound butter and a potato and brussels sprout hash. The hash was kinda meh but the steak was amazing with that compound butter...
Never heard flavoured butters referred to as compound butter before. Had to Google it. Over here we just use the primary added ingredient in the name - sage butter for example.

This one had tarragon, parsley, shallot, garlic, salt & pepper; there was no dominant ingredient. Mashed into softened butter then rolled up in plastic wrap. In the freezer to firm up then sliced into medallions. I still have the end chunks to use on something else.

Would probably just be called herb butter here in that case. With a voiced “h” ;)
