New pair of Blades lost somewhere on a heather covered hillside (they were black, so impossible to spot). The lanyard untied/broke and I don't know exactly where they dropped so I never found them. That was 1991, I was back about a month ago having another look for them. They weren't cheap

That's messed up! I cringe when I see people clean their sunglasses or eye glasses like that

It gives instant micro scratches that many people can’t even see. Then I realise the risks of buying second hand from unknown sources. Quite often they really mean it when they say scratch free! They can’t see them.
