Cutting Lenses - What Works

Could someone please tell me the dimensions of a half jacket 2.0 lens (not XLJ)?
Example: w1 60.2 | w2 62.0 | h 36.1

Hi guys, what's Ocp taco? Are you referring to big taco lenses?
And if big taco lenses work with romeo 1, how does the polarized etching come out, is it possible to have it visible or can it be removed all together?

Thanks

Some Big Taco lenses are only available when you buy a custom (OCP) pair.

I cut them for my romeo. They're not the best donor because they are JUST a touch small, but they will work.

If there are no visible gaps and they are smaller than the OEM lenses but where they are smaller, its hidden inside the frame... in my books, that's a lens that works and should stay on the chart. I'd agree that thiis would not be ideal... I'd look for a better doner.

Hehe, I was chasing this for a while... after looking at many different polarized lenses, I've come to realize that it would be nearly impossible to find a doner where the polarized etching would line up right and the R1 lens is a larger lens so its equally hard to find a doner where you can completely avoid it but avoiding it would be the right approach and the Big Taco may just be big enough to avoid the polarized etching. I'll have a closer look next week and report back if no one has done so already.

I think Oakley in general seem to be doing away with the Polarized etching on newer pairs, so it could solve your problem of not having the etching visible during a lens cut.

Sounds good! Let us know what you find with the polarized etching. I did a cut from a polarized ice jawbone lens a year ago for Romeo 1 and was able to preserve the polarized etching. The only drawback was that the ending of the word "polarized" is a little close to the frame.
