What amazes me is this ... it is a great example of how twisted our own system can be... In the USA you must go through an extensive background check AND purchase a $250 tax stamp to own a suppressor. It use to be about a 6 month to 1 year wait until you got the stamp but now it is taking days and weeks BUT across the pond in countries that ban firearms or are highly restrictive you can literally walk in and buy a suppressor over the counter unchecked because they get it that it saves your hearing and makes the gun more manageable to shoot so you will be more likely to hit your target.

It amazes me how often I heard that from the tourist.

I think they did the right thing there removing our pics... I got a message that said guns need to stay on this thread I made and it is understandable... there are some here from countries where they view guns to be nothing but violence and death because they have been outlawed so long they never have been trained or have even seen one. You would be surprised at the foreigners who come into my old store and were taking pictures of the guns like tourist cause they had never seen anything like it in their lives. We really are blessed to live in a country where we are free to have them as long as we are responsible.

Don't worry about being in trouble... I am pretty sure I diverted all the attention away form that thread with the MEx thread BS that happened this morning. If I vanish I got banned so get my # from Jim if that happens or find me on oreview. I am feeling kinda done with this place and its trolling issues.
Understand if you don’t wanna talk about it but im intrigued about the MEx thread?

Do you think that it’s because most weapons in other countries have to be stored at ranges unless they are for a specific use like pest control on farms and are restricted to certain types of single shot weapons?

That is a tough question to answer bud... Just here in the states we have 50 states with 50 different sets of gun laws. It ranges from "Right to carry states" where you need no permit to carry as long as you practice safe handling and do not use the weapon to intimidate to states where if you get caught with a 30 round mag in your truck you are looking at prison time. Then you expand out to the world and all the countries and their individual laws and it gets mind boggling real fast. I think every country sets its own laws by how guns have played a roll in the history of that country. If you go to Peru for instance they are super restrictive because of cartels and the violence around the drug trade but you go to Australia and it is because of the shooting that happened 20 years ago at the day camp. Allot of laws are passed based on population density as well so a country with a heavy population might have restrictions on long range guns like rifles. It would take a VERY long post to try and talk about all the ins and outs of laws but the laws on suppression are pretty cut and dry. USA laws were based in the days of the Mafia in America where they would use them to do hits and the USA has maintained that antiquated law simply because the government gets $250 for the stamp. It is about the tax now. Other countries WANT you to use them because of the noise reduction and safety they bring to the gun.
