HELP: First post: Do polarized lenses look lighter even for the same lens color?

All of the info on this thread is correct - Images on Oakley's website are CGI, for all practical purposes polar and non-polar look the same, and polar versions tend to have a slightly lower light trans % due to blocking out upward-reflected glare light.

However, there is one other difference - non-polar lenses have the base tint actually in and throughout the polycarbonate. Polars used to as well (so your older polar lenses will be like that), but these days they make their polars using a clear poly with the base tint as a layer. But you can really only notice it when looking at the lens edge-on...
