I agree they ask Ebay prices on here and thats not fair. Cost of listing paying for add and others over there that arent here. My question is if it sold over there. Did someone bid on it and not pay or was it a situation where iam bidding up a product and got caught with the high bid. which is done routinely called shiling,

I bid on it a little cause I love that blue. Plus it marked it so I knew what it sold at. Me thinks it was an attempt to drive more bidders to eBay in an attempt to max it out as best as possible. It may or may not have worked. Had he offered here for 400-500 it might have sold given the condition and additional black lenses. This pair sold for what they have recently sold for. JJFish sold a set recently, was asking $470. @NuttyOAK13Y sold a couple sets shipped over $400. I bought one of em. Love em to death and wear em frequently. I seem to remember one other set sold for $400 here but can’t remember who sold em. I just traded a pair of glasses I had listed for 400 shipped for possibly the lowest serial number know at this point and it’s a beautiful set with box and I can tell you I feel like I came out ahead, but I have a thing for serial numbers. So honestly $432 with the tax if one had to pay it was about what they go for. The point is I think, we are a community of people who love these glasses. Bring em here cut us a break cause we tend to all be friends. If not one wants em then toss em on eBay and try and max out the funds.

I think it was assumed you might have been an active bidder when you said “I am bidding up a product”. Shill bidding is a very real thing sadly. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Typically you can tell by the feedback scores and if you’re doing it on a desktop, I think you can see the interaction between seller and bidder. That can be a HUGE tell as it’s based on percentages.

No I was saying someone might have got caught holding the bag if still for sale. I heard people have a friend bid a certain price with hopeas that someone will come in over top of them at the end of bidding. That guarantees you to get what you want provided someone Bids after your set up. After that no ones makes sure the staged bidder actually pays for product he rigged the bid on. Plus there is little to no way to tell if those two people were shilling.

Yea that stuff happens. No for sure way to guarantee if it’s happening or not, that’s why the bidder interaction thing is helpful. If they 95% activity between the bidder and the seller then it’s a safe bet it’s a shill bidder.

Yes but if I sell infruquently I just have a friend put in a bid. We have never bid on things before so looks ligate. Plus even when Ebay knows this is going on they are reluctant to do anything. Its to there advantage when the price is higher. And when confronted Ebay with evidense the seller can advise if you post negative response that they want it removed and get it done. Ive seen this happen

I just bid with a price that I like. Then if I win, I'm happy about the price.
