Oakley cycle helmet - what came with it

I just bought an Oakley cycle helmet today - with it came a little strip of flexible rubber with a soft cloth backing. I've no idea what it's for!
It doesn't seem like the back would peel off to stick it on anywhere. Could anyone enlighten me? Thanks!

The rubber one peels off. There is velcro to decide which one you want to use

It's the rubber one that I got separately, there was a kind of foam strip already there at the front the helmet. I'm not quite sure what the difference is... why would the rubber one be better?

From trying it out, the rubber is slightly thicker and makes the helmet tighter (even with adjustment), so I'll probably stick with the foam.
