Oakley X-Metal Half X LH hinge broken, Please Help!

The hinge is made of bunch of parts.
The design is brilliant but piss poor executed.
The shaft is only spot welded to the Head.

This is where I‘m at.
I managed to laser weld the original pin back to the head. I need to find the right tool to press end of the Pin flat.

That appears to be a somewhat DIY’able shape to make a metal casting, then die of.
If ones successful with that, then they should be able to crank out replacement pieces quickly, easily, and in-spec.

I have zero Half-X experience however, and your repair looks impressive!

@StG That looks about where I'd like to get mine at. For the moment, I am stuck with this:
The tooth of the little fork ( sorry, don't know the name of all parts ) broke, and the head also came off the shaft. It's held by the screw on the temple...

The litte Piece you holding is the most important and difficult of the assembly. Strange is that the little Piece you are holding looks different than mine. Please take some more pictures of it and post them.
Hold on good to all the little pieces. The Setscrew is next to impossible to find.
Good thing is, the rest of the parts are still inside the Temple.
To get the rest of the parts out of the temple you might have to put it into a hot Ultrasonic. All the grease got hard in time.

Finally done.
I managed to fix Hinge and stripped the Carbon of the Frame.
Assembly is a bitch.

Now the hard part starts.
Finding Earsocks.
I pay a fistfull of cash plus some german chocolate for a set.

Congrats, although I think the hardest part is already completed. You should do a full write up on how you made the hinge mechanism. I have one with a broken hinge I’ve been looking to fix too.

I will do my best to write it up.
