Old Sub Zeros - RELOADED!

There has been nothing officially posted, but that is the rumor that's floating around.

I messaged a reginal rep that has been with the company for over 20 years and asked him if this was supposed to be this way. His response was "mistakes were made...lol"

I think @Oakleygarth has also stated he talked to a contact that said it was a production error.
So that makes them now more of a collective piece huh?

I got my planets X frosted, and I can do a direct comparison for those who didn't get them, or for those who have the non-frosted version and want frosted very much :)

IMO, both models have lenses that differ slightly in color. The non-frosted version is much more gold than the frosted, which is visible only from several angles, and the reflections in the non-frosted version have much more vivid colours :)

Example 1:

at this angle you don't see much difference in the color, but as you can see on the inside outline, the non-frosted version has more yellow / gold color and cutouts are much wider!

Example 2:
the difference is still not very visible, but when you have well calibrated monitors, you can see that the non-frosted version has more vivid colors

Example 3:
from this angle you can clearly see the difference in the colors of the lenses

verdict:
I think the Planet X version has too much hype, i feel a bit disappointed by them-I like the fingerprint and carbon versions little better.
The Planet X lenses look awesome, but hinges with blue planet x patter looks cheap and and does not match with lenses as well as in the case of fingerprint (matte lenses and matte hinges) and carbon (glossy black hinges and glossy black lenses).

advantages of the non-frosted version over the frosted version:
- much better visibility, the frosted version has a smaller viewing surface due to the matte finish
- the reflecting lens harmonizes better with the shimmering blue graphic element of planets X
- the lens has more yellow / gold color, which makes the colors much more vivid
- much easier to clean, matt elements of planets X frosted ... are cruelly difficult to keep clean

In the next post I will put some selfies so you can see what these glasses look like on my face.
Thank you for that. Very well in depth description. I have the planet X prism Road non-frosted and for some reason in my head I thought that if you had the frosted version the frosted parts would gain less fingerprints or get dirty less guess I'm wrong?

Lots of movement on these. I don’t believe, as a member, I’ve seen this much back and forth on one model as this zero, in such a short time after release.
Lots of trading and swapping.
Makes my little ice cube of a heart melt a bit.🥺❤️🙏🏼
Love this forum and the Kumbaya amongst the members.

Yep nothing else we can do. I have 2 non frosted and most people have 2 frosteds. Number of people with frosted pairs are more than people with non frosted planet X.

I just bought the fingerprint and planet x. Have an extra fingerprint I'm selling.
