Since you guys are waking this thread up, I spoke to some guys at the Vault yesterday who said there is a new Xmetal on the rise soon. Different material. I did not question him, only said that would be nice.

Different material? X-metal is X-metal, different material can't be X-metal.

I guess we'll see, but I'm not expecting anything even close to the quality of the original X-metals. Ever again.

If they don't come up with a worthy successor to the x metal line I feel they will lose what made them really unique. the x metals got me hooked on the brand.. whenever I look at the Oakley plastic frames I am not really impressed...

Agreed... seeing plastic Oakleys with "made in China" stamped on them really hurts the brand legacy IMO
