Rumor: New X-Metal

Will you acquire the new release if it exists?

Then our previous X-Metals should hold their value :).

Among collectors, I'd think more than that - they'd become even more valuable. My fear is that inferior new releases would degrade the reputation of the originals, big-picture, from sycophants not knowing the difference...

they do have the right formula, my question is what part of the process they can be wrong producing inferior quality xmetal? one thing for sure they gonna cut labor cost.

Sure, they know how to make them, but will new releases use the same process as before, or something else? I don't see Lux restarting something with the same profit margin as what they shut down; they gotta be cutting corners...

If it even happens... I'm still waiting for something better than a rumor...

with their resources they can make the process better technology wise, i doubt they gonna change the composition. Being said that, the materials and production would be source in cheapest way possible. if they produce a crap one, im still torn which part of the process they gonna produce an inferior one. Intriguing if indeed true, i hope there is no negative surprise.

This wasn't a rumor. This was an official announcement of sorts from Oakley to the attendees at the Miami conference.
Whether it actually happens or not that's another matter.

Heard same thing from a district manager. Who knows as TN ing constantly change. Question is if it's a close production of what we have now do you see it as valuable?

Yes, I considered that as well. If they are in fact inferior, hopefully they don't look and feel identical to the originals. I haven't been holding my breath on these "new X-Metals" and am now fairly comfortable with the number of originals that I have in my collection. So I'll mostly likely sit back, and enjoy everyone else's ride when/if the new models get released. Now if there are new designs with metal blends and more usage of carbon fiber, I'll probably be all over them.

...having broken a carbon blade in my first 2 weeks with them, I'd be concerned over the durability of that kind of frame... more metal the better
