how could it be different? magnesium are magnesium as we saw in the older mag frames. They look like a xmetal finish but it aint the same. Among magnesium frames, the magnesium mframes finish would be the closes i can imagine. It aint xmetal and it will never be. They will just damaged the rep of the real xmetal we have. They will be even more damaging if they gonna used the Xmetal word in marketing. Shame but it aint sounds promising. Lux sucks!

Not true. Look at Ducati Motorcycles. Case Covers are made of forged Mag on the Panigale, Also the headlight subframe. Magnesium is used on ALOT of Aircraft parts, especially Helicopter transmissions. I work For NASA and can personally say that correctly forged and treated Mag will last.

I am in the SeaTac area. The South Center location is where the manager was and I spoke personally to him. Again, take it for what it is. If it happens it will be new, and we will either buy them or not. I have all the metal frames I want. Romeo 1, Juliets, and 2 squared. RX lenses in both the x squared. Personally those are my favorite.

Those are a lot of positives, i will take it as it is but if it aint xmetal it aint xmetal. Its magnesium and i hope its promising like you portray them to be coz if they do i will surely buy one.

I'm not trying to portray them as anything. I have no idea what they look like, how they are made, or what to expect. I can just say that mag can be done right. I do like the fact they are doing something other than carbon... I have never ben a fan of carbon framed sunglasses.

Got ya. I was thinking you meant I was saying they will be great. They could be ugly as sin but made from good mag... who the heck knows...

So, exactly what we've believed, that the factory will never be reopened and real x-metals are never coming back. And, exactly what we've been afraid of, a different, inferior(?) product hijacking the brand name.

I respectfully disagree. Using the X Metal moniker will keep the values of our X Metals aloft and continue to expose new eyes to our old versions. Without Lux sticking the name out there and marketing it how would those without knowledge of our X Metals discover them?
Hopefully they will price them at $500.
