The Video Games Thread

I haven't had any crashes, but I have experienced terrible drops in frame rate (felt like 15-20 fps), atrocious pop in and glitchy animations. The Xbox One X isn't a slouch of a console either, so I was a bit shocked at how poorly it ran.

The graphics were a bit of a letdown as well...I assume were scaled down to help optimization, but AC Valhalla & even older Deus Ex titles look and run 10x better.

yea i've heard it scales down a lot on consoles. i wouldn't think a One X would as much though. i have one of those too and yea it's pretty powerful for a console.

you might want to check out this article. The cost of fixing Cyberpunk 2077 is "irrelevant" compared to restoring company reputation, says CDPR

And... my SSD hard drive (raid 0 drives) windows is on just failed when I got home from a 12 hour work day. Great. Luckily I still have Alienware in home premium support till February. So they are sending out a tech to replace both nvme SSDs in the raid 0 setup. I'd rather have them send me the parts so could fix it myself, but I guess I'll let them do it for the warranties sake. I do plan on extending the warranty before it expires anyways.

Been enjoying CyberPunk - just finished Act 1 last night - no spoilers for anyone though :)

Playing on a Xbox Series X - super fast loads, and smooth gameplay. No studdering, tearing, or the like.
Native 4K as well - TV doesn’t support HDR10, but is running on the older HDR.

Really digging the environment and overall game.

The usability of the UI is a fail sadly. Seems like a straight PC port, can’t even use the bumpers to change tabs in the UI, common.....having to joystick a “mouse” on a console is not the right approach IMHO

Anyone having issues with Cyberpunk? Looks like **** on my Xbox One X 😞
I’ve played 20 hours so far and the latest patch helped with the frame rate and no more crashes. But overall the bugs haven’t been bad at all. I’m playing on a PS4 Slim from 2 years ago and it’s definitely not broken on my machine. Maybe gen 1 PS4 has more problems. But I keep reading all these horror stories but haven’t experienced it yet.

One of my favorite games and one of the few FF games Ive actually beaten:)
I’ve beaten all the main line games and sequels (Lightning Returns FFXIII and FFXV only this year during lockdown) bar the two MMOs, XI and XIV. Resubbed to XIV to play a bit more of it over the Christmas period.
