What's On Your Plate???

Decided on some Indian food for lunch today, their non-vegetarian lunch combo:

It amuses me that they call it "non-vegetarian lunch combo". Anywhere else, it'd be called "lunch combo"...

Grill day 4 - Texas quail:

Yeah, they look kinda burnt, but really they're not.

The recipe is to rub them with kosher salt and ground black pepper. Make a marinade of olive oil, fresh diced garlic, honey, and thyme (I can give exact portions if anybody cares). Marinade the quail from 4 to 24 hours; these got about 18. Grill breast-side down for 4-5 mins, flip then grill another 4-5 mins.

The sugar content of the honey blackened a bit (I was afraid that'd happen), giving the burned look. But there was no burned flavor or dry meat - they were actually quite juicy and delicious. In fact, I think they were the best meal of grill week. I wasn't really hungry but once I started eating them I ravenously tore in until they were all gone (as did The Wife)...

But that's it for grill week. I had planned to break those chicken thighs down into two meals, but there were less of them than I was expecting so I cooked them all yesterday. I guess tomorrow is leftover night...
