I hate it! lol! been eating indian food for almost every other day! lol! but the chapati bread is nice!

lol - really, though I've had Indian food a number of times over the years, I've never really cared for it. But last week I stopped in this place on a whim (to be honest I was feeling a little bloated and thought it would push through a good dump).

I don't even know what it all was - I mean, I can identify some ingredients, but I have no idea what the different things were called or how I was supposed to eat it (how the things were supposed to go together). So I just started eating.

And I was absolutely blown away. Every bite was superb.

Not knowing what to expect I hadn't snapped a pic. So today I met The Wife there for lunch and got the pic you see. It wasn't exactly the same, about half of it was different dishes. But I still didn't know what it was... I wasn't as blown away this time but I still enjoyed it.

My wife is Indian, at home we just call that 'food' ... ;)

As much/little as I know about Indian food (being a white boy), isn't that bread called Naan? Chapati has a different look/ingredient mix

Yeah, I checked out their menu after the fact; they do naan half a dozen ways but it was all naan. I tore it into chunks and dipped it in that curry sauce sitting on top, but is that how it's supposed to go?

Do you know what the main rice dish with the bone-in chicken chunks is called? And that crispy shell on top (I moved it off a bit for the pic) - am I supposed to eat it with that dish? How?

And the white dressing that's like Greek tzatziki sauce - what is that supposed to go with?

Sure, there's no 'official' way ... Hats what info and I haven't been kicked out of a restaurant yet...

That's so vague as a description, chicken pulao?

Raita sauce

It's that time of the year again... we're celebrating The Kid's b-day tomorrow (even though it's not until the 5th) and I'm preparing to go full-on BBQ...

If everybody who RSVP'd shows up, we're looking at around 65 guests. And this, my friends, is about 40 lbs of raw meat:

(though hot dogs aren't actually raw...)

I'm trying to do prep work tonight and the cooking tomorrow, starting with the ribs (they take 5 hours). But the brisket is a 12-hour-plus overnight cook; I just put it on:

Stay tuned for the finished results...
