So I have someone (not on this forum) trying to sell me an R1 for an overly reasonable price like one of them to good to be true prices (300.00) but the whole deal seems shady and I’m 90 percent certain these are fake. Here’s what I see that leads me to think they maybe fake
1. The nose bridge and everything seems to squared off
2. In the pictures I can’t see a serial but they are low quality and not really focused.
3. The arm tips seem to be uneven and bent at the ends
4. The lenses are etched polarized which I don’t even know of replacement lenses that have eteched polarized.
5. The biggest giveaway is the nose bombs they are not like R1 nose bombs they look almost like R2 nosebombs

If this is a fake this is getting scary because I consider myself to have a trained eye owning 7 pair and im not a 100 percent sure.
What do you all think?

Honestly if you where looking at these on someone’s face and they maybe had a pair of custom cut Oakley lenses in them, would you be able to tell they where fake? The only giveaways are on the back side.

Besides what was mentioned already, there should be a gap where the shocks are towards where the arms are Bolted in. And whoever is sending these tomyou are taking picrures of different glasses or just pulling from whoever is the supplier. Def. fakes, probably looking for someone who just goes blindly and is rucshing to send the money since it is such a “good deal”.

Def fakes. But you're right.. damn good fakes. I see some sign on the temple shock area. And the arms, while they have fixed the bent tip giveaway, they are just too straight for hammerstems.

The best way to spot a counterfeit, is to know the original so well there is no question. Even if you only know it in your gut.

Just go and look on Brazil's version of ebay (Mercado) if you want to see fakes galore. It's easy to spot a fake. The tips of the arms where the Oakley O is located looks all wrong. The squared off orbitals look wrong. As Bonz-1 said the nose bombs are wrong as well.
