A little late for that now as everything is ordered and partially delivered. Plus as we are doing more reviews 4K is almost a requirement. We built a couple of interesting spaces in the house to record in as well. It’s been busy for us over here getting ready for all of it.

To tell you the truth it was killing me to not record stuff. Which is why I started recording B-roll stuff on the cameras that came in so i have footage ready to go. Ill be very surprised if the first new video isn’t up by this weekend. The new stuff should be a fairly big departure from that stuff we did before. I spent a TON of time trying to sort this out to be able to change the format enough to be sustainable. Trying to record HOURS and HOURS of footage to be able to piece together a 15 minute clip is brutal.

Especially with the big life changes Sara and I have going on right now. ( videos are being made that cover those as well ).

Suffice it to say the Marien review is coming and soon, as is a lot more content.

As some one with around 20 years in television production. I can tell you it is quite opposite of this statement. It is too easy to offer shoot forage for editors. They get agitated if you bring back an excessive amount footage.

Other than that, I know several folks are waiting to see your review on these lenses. I will be watching in 720p. :wink:

@Wesleypipesyo agreed, when you have a focus on what your shooting. But typically we had to main goal other than to have a good time with cameras. This go round we are shooting for some sort of narritive in each video. Things like what’s going on that day and following that story from start to finish which allows us to film far less as we don’t need what doesn’t pertain to the story. Beefing up our tech reviews which are a ton of fun to do but exhausting and lots more unboxings we just filmed unboxings of some blizzard gear, a new gimble and today I’ll be doing the electric skateboard. So with the shift to focused filming I’m hoping to be in your boat soon which would make life way easier.

Back to the review. I read somewhere above that a member lend his Dillon for you to compare with this lens. How is it going? Just curious. I might missed, kindly refer me to it, so many messages.

@Linegear Japan

You are correct I did have a pair of dillons here but unfortunately I didnt have them here at the same time as the Marien lenses. The whole story is a bit convoluted as they pit stopped here before getting shipped out by me to the cutter. I pulled them out of their cases only a single time when they first arrived and they went with me on a lunch trip. I kept them cased for the duration of the time with me as i wanted to keep them safe not being the owner. Unfortunately I didnt get the marien pairs until almost a month later i think it was. Due to the group buy on lens cutting that the owner was a part of i had to ship them off before i ever had a chance for a side by side comparison. The pairs were not ever here at the same time. I know what my general feelings on the dillons are compared to the Mariens having worn them both at this point but to say i could do a good side by side would be inaccurate at best. If I could get a set of Dillons here again for a test now that the mariens are here I could really give some good opinions and show some on camera but as it stands now it will be oakley vs marien with a touch of what i think of the dillons opinion tossed in.

Would love it if someone could shoot a pair over for a few weeks. Preferably in a oakley frame as i genuinely dislike Dillon frames... a lot...

Just a little correction...if I remember correctly, I think there was a point of time where both the Dillon and Mariener were in the same place for about a week but I think you were busy with work, correct?

You know what your right... I just reread texts... they both were here when i was out of town then we had rain that whole week... so i stand corrected bad timing with the out of town thing, and bad weather followed by shipping them back out. I certainly don’t put any blame anywhere.
