The Lone Wolf speaks truths
Sounds like @Atticus can't make up his mind. NEVER give up on your team...EVER!
Wrong...the Pirates ownership gave up on their own team years ago. Why shouldn't the fans?

Were they the ones on the field playing?
Nope, but they were the ones getting traded if they showed any promise. For awhile, and maybe even currently, as a Pirates fan, you don’t want to get too attached to a player. They’d be gone in a month if they were batting 300...
I think there were petitions in Pittsburgh for the owners to sell the team back in the late 2000s. Looks like there was another one with the McCutchen deal.

Yet they survived cause they had a fan base?

Note: this list has gotten shorter as the day went on.

Im sending free oakleys to anyone who has their name removed from the list
I’m not on the first list, but am on the second...does that count? :)

The only Pitt team I am a fan of at the moment is the Penguins. The Steelers are out of the running as Tomlin needs to go. He’s a terrible coach. I think the city is just now starting to realize this.

They refused to pay stupid money to one player. That isnt giving up on your team. Baseball is a weird sport where the the teams with the most all stars dont always win....in fact its the opposite. Look to recent history and astros, giants, royals, and even redsox team last year werent star studded teams. They were teams full of gritty no names who played good together. That was the formula the pirates are after and that doesnt mean they gave up on their team.

Tomlin is a bad head coach...good coordinator. Classic example
