Time to change the New member requirements

I’m gonna try and give a brief of what happened to me when I first started chiming in back in 2016/17 and why I’m here. Today.

As stated above. I love the brand and truly started after they discontinued my absolutely favorite shades. Canteen 1.0….
I had broken my last cheap pair of sunglasses. I was sold the canteens by a young gentleman at the kiosk in the mall. He said these are the ones you want. I tried them on. I look damn good if I do say so myself. Sometime after they started wearing out. I wasn’t taking care of them well. I started looking for another pair. Sure enough they were discontinued. The search was on. Eventually the search brought me here. I started reading the forum. I was getting to know some of the characters/members. I also found myself on eBay. Where I found those lenses I was looking for.
No, I was looking for another pair of shades/glasses. The forum was a little complicated for me. I found myself back at eBay. I managed to buy another pair of my favorite shades/sunglasses.
I thought I was done there. I found the forum very intriguing/interesting. I noticed other things that interested me in the brand. I noticed there was a big following of the brand here when I read the forum. I think this was back in 2015/16.
I know. For those that have been paying attention. I may be the oldest one here. Besides maybe Rick….. maybe.

After the canteen 1.0 adventure and scoring a pair on eBay. I thought I was done.
However, for entertainment/knowledge purposes. I returned to the forum.
Frank dominated around here. Frank was hilarious in my book. He was of course rough around the edges. A lot of people couldn’t take him. Funny thing is. Frank packed up, took his toys/knowledge and left the sandbox. Gone for good. He had the most posts around these parts.
Gone through. Never to be heard from again. I think I tracked him down because let me tell you he was elusive besides the form. If I remember right, he never bought and sold on this forum. He did own at all though the coveted. FMJ and all of everything.. if I remember correctly.
Like I said, I found myself interested in the watches. The MM hadn’t grew on me yet. Soon after I found out a piece of beautiful artwork not just to watch….

The MM was pricey for me. I had already bought and sold a few other items already. I made a couple bucks. I started selling on eBay. I started establishing the new price point for some of the duffels, and the stand out was the doublepayload at the time. I did not try to mark up double the value or “quadruple” I was just trying to make a couple extra bucks so I could buy some more Oakley stuff.
I finally had enough money. I set my eyes on a polished MM.
Here’s where I start to name with a few members. Let me name off the top before I go into others. I think it was. “Lion” the original OG Collector.

So. I did my homework. I wanted to buy the best. I watched the forum so I could buy my first watch. The polished black MM a you think of beauty. You just look at the damn thing though and it’s scratches. Lol I ended up going back about six pages in the buy/sell section of the forum. Somehow all of the members overlook this thing of beauty plus it was a little expensive. $1,800
From @CarGuy the purchase was successful. You don’t know who to actually trust. FF or GS..

I want to say something about that subject before I move on. There are some thieves and some snakes and some really bad people. Taking advantage of us collectors. Even when you find people you think you can trust. Sometimes they stab you right in the back and then we have the people that have taken a hobby, and treat into a business. Charging quadruple for stuff and trying to corner the market. Moving on..

I scored however, like I said, it was a little pricey I used all my extra money tapped out
I’m gonna name some of the memorable characters/friends I’ve made here.
Some….I think are still around lurking they don’t really chime in anymore. Some do.
I’m gonna go way back to like 2017/2018.
Kronin323 this guy was full of the best knowledge he could write like no other he had information that everybody else took for granted.

Plenty of backs with knives in them from these two alone.

I actually liked Yakuza before he went rogue. I think I purchased(and received)one of the last things he sold that he actually shipped out. I guess I got lucky.

As for Trump, that guy was such an OCD punk. Always trying to ruin your sales threads and would argue about dumb stuff just to mess with you. I wish there would have been a block feature back then.
