What Else Do You Collect Besides Oakley? Any Hobbies Or Talents?

So going off the rails alittle and started feeling a bit of nostalgia. Since no one really uses anymore I figured I better get one while I can and they become dinosaurs. A genuine pay phone. This is a brand new unit I bought just as a display piece. Mid 90s phone. I figured I would never have a land line again. I asked my niece if she ever used one she said no. She’s 30 years old. Ugh she never experienced calling her mom on one of these to pick her up from the mall. The good ole days. View attachment 836371View attachment 836369View attachment 836370
There’s a bunch of these sitting around the shop where i work. I’ve thought about bringing one home and hanging it on the wall.

I’m an LA Kings hockey fan. That’s where my screen name comes from...Not checkers. I’ve collected some autographed stuff. All of which I’ve gotten signed in person. So that stuff goes in this Oakley case.

Very cool stuff brother, trying to make out some your autographs, one I can see clearly is the top one of you and Jonathan Quick. Which is awesome, he's always been one of my favorites to watch. Had a chance a few years back to grab a signed Team USA jersey of his from the olympics but passed on it, still kicking myself over that LOL.

Thanks man.

Quick is cool, but very quiet in person. I took that picture in Las Vegas where they were doing a pre-season game before the Vegas Knights were around. The players had to walk through the casino to get to the rink, so I stopped him and Dustin Brown for a picture. Rob Blake was always hanging around playing the tables in the Casino the whole time.

The Kings minor league team plays at an arena just a couple miles from me and they always do a “have dinner with the players” event every year. So I’ve had dinner with a couple players who are now with the Kings. Carl Grundstrom and Kurtis MacDermid were the last 2 players that were at my table.

Also have autographs from Kopitar, Carter, Campbell and had Drew Doughty sign my stick.

That's awesome. Yea we live right by the Penguins AHL team so we go to a lot of their stuff too. Got to see the Stanley Cup a few times when they brought it down here which was a pretty surreal experience.

Sweet! I have a picture of myself with the Stanley cup when the Kings won. How long have you been a Pens fan? Jagr has always been one of my favorite players ever.

That’s crazy how many younger people have never seen a pay phone!
AFV video a woman showing one to her grand kids and asked them if they knew what it was? They had no idea!
