Brutal, Ron, brutal!!! Ha ha ha!
It is a premium frame and should be done so all the way from design to engineering. Somebody along the line had obviously made the dumb call to cut cost on such a prestige piece with prestige pricing. You sometimes wonder why Oakley isn't doing as well as they used to when they're competing other brands like Rayban who market prestige items at half their MSRP and comes with everything that doesn't scream "we've been cutting corners but still want to demand your chunk of cash".
