Cutting Lenses - What Works

I have a Half-X lens that I messed up a bit on the edges. I believe it was incorrectly cut at the factory, and as a result, the iridium coating on the edges got chewed up when I was trying to install. Once I got the lenses into the frame, they were too wide, and wouldn't seat correctly.

Anyway, so I have a Half-X donor lens. I didn't see anything on the chart, and a quick search didn't yield any results. Mars and Juliet are no go, since the Half-X lens isn't wide enough. Actually, the lens doesn't seem to be wide enough to use as a donor for much in my collection; even fives and Minute lenses are wider. Any ideas what it could be used for?

I was thinking I might be able to get an Unknown/Splice out of the Half-X...but it would be extremely close. And I mean extremely. I basically wouldn't have any margin for error, so that's probably out too. Looks like Penny it is. Any other suggestions?

Half X seem like the don't fit but its how you install them that makes the difference. I have changed the bottom shape of the lens a few times and learned the lens can be fitted with ease....

I'm starting to think that my one Half-X frame is actually off, not the lens. Sorry for getting so into detail, and we're getting way off topic for this thread, but here's the deal: My Polished Frame has VR28 Black lenses that fit perfectly. I bought Fire replacement lenses, which won't seat correctly in the frame. I have another Half-X in Carbon with Black Iridium; so I took the black lenses out of that one and tried them in the Polished frame, and they won't fit either. I took the Fire lenses and put them in the Carbon frame, and everything is good. The Black lenses also obviously fit in the Carbon frame perfectly. Then I tried the VR28 in the Carbon frame, and they don't fit.

The problem I am having with the Polished frame is that the lens goes in, but there is always a small, but noticeable, gap between the lens and the frame, in the outer corner (by where the gasket sits). I have removed both screws and reset everything but no matter what I try, the gap won't close. All I can conclude is that the Polished frame and lens are a tiny bit wider than the Carbon. Could that really be the issue? Anyone else ever have this problem?

Anybody have any success with straight jacket lenses in the PB1? I have these Alignhi red polarized straight jax lenses that I would like to use in the PB1. They're close but a little big for the orbital so they need sanding down along the edges. I have a dremel here so would I use the standard sanding drum or pick up something finer? anybody have a good outcome with this and have any tips I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Did you mean Split Jackets? Straight Jackets works for Juliets. I have some Splits I was going to try but haven't yet.

Yeah I meant splits...just don't want to ruin these lenses. Seems they need just a little taken off. I want to preserve the etching too.
