i'm optimistic. even corvettes had a factory option for light weight magnesium wheels in the 2000's. those worked well.

So i just went to an oakley store and talked to te manager there. Very nice girl who was very knowledgeable when it came to vintige and elite stuff. Anyway she said her boss who owns several oakley stores was told that there will be a return of the juliet in a ferrari edition sometime in the next few years. She said the Juliet would likly be the only one that would come back. Also said reason for discontinuation was in part due to saftey (metal had tendency to expload) and environmental concerns. I know cost to manufacture was a major issues as well but i am just relaying info here. Anyway she was pretty excited. Dont know if there is any truth to that, but she was nice (even knew dr. Chop!) so i give her some credit...

I guess I am confused by your comment... Upon further review it was a regional manager that she was referring to as Oakley doesn't have franchises. But it was a Oakley store, not a store that happens to sell oakleys.

Maybe they should just start small and bring back collectable boxes to go with signature series frames or a Ferrari PB3 with an elite icon

i've e-mailed them asking for more info but it's probably just a teaser putting them as 'coming soon' on their website. i'm not holding my breath for any details, let alone pictures but you never know....

I guess the round orbitals give a slight Mars flavour, if you squint just right.
