Apparently there is no serial number?

Response from seller:

These glasses were produced after 2004, Oakley stop putting serial numbers on the left arm of X-Metal glasses in 2004.

So that means they're 4th gen. X-metal / Ruby is one of the more desirable colorways but a 4th gen example would be the least valuable from a collector's perspective. I'd put them at $350 - $400 optimistically IMHO. Some might go a little higher but not by much.

You should consider what you plan to do with them. If you plan to wear them, spending the extra money for a LNIB and complete collectible pair is a bit of a waste because that extra value is going to evaporate once you start wearing them. And then there's one less example in circulation. Alternatively you can find better deals in glasses-only sales that will better retain their value after you wear them. Or you could always get a pair that needs some work and build them up to your spec.

Whatever you want to do; it's your money. It doesn't sound like you're too concerned about the cost but hanging around here, one tends to build up a bit of a collection and it adds up - $900 can get the impatient man two pairs for $450 each or it can get the patient man three for $300 per...

Great advice, Sensai.

Thanks, man. I definitely plan to wear them. I’m a bit OCD so I would prefer to have the box but otherwise no big deal. I’m not too worried about the overall cost, I just don’t want to get ripped off. I have several other pairs but I have always missed my Juliet’s. Weird addiction, hah!

I will bid them up to $500 then stop, if I win great, if not I’ll wait around here for another pair. I definitely want OEM lenses and not aftermarket and these seem like a nice time capsule pair that fits my desires.

You may not be aware of this but there are people here who will take OEM lenses made for other pairs and cut them to fit frames for which OEM replacements are otherwise unavailable. We call them custom cuts.

So you're not limited to aftermarkets if lenses need replacing. Just an option to keep in mind...

I was like you and bought my first NIB and then realized I didn’t want to wear them...so I bought another pair. Then I bought an R1 and got a great deal for a complete LNIB and I was like, $h!t, now I got to buy another pair I can wear. So at this point, I’m up to 4 pairs that are complete and like new with box...it’s a curse, so just be careful. :)

I’ve read about those. I would would not consider that route unless there were no other options available. I want original, new in box.

I’m weird; yes I know.

I really appreciate your advice and bringing that to my attention though.

This place is going to be addictive, lol.

And after you’ve been doing it for a while $900 will get you a whole box full of them!

Is a display and presumably NIB otherwise Jupiter Camo Jawbone worth a $200 grab? I can't totally tell if value leveled out lately based on past sales in the exchange
