Guys are fixing X-metals using non-OEM parts. Should we stop fixing up our X-metals just because Oakley doesn’t want to make replacement parts anymore? My thoughts are that, we are ‘lucky’ to have people willing to go out of their way to create something for us to use to fix up our beater glasses and other Oakley items. I know it’s not OEM.

I’m kinda confused here. OP stated that the straps are custom. Not sure what the problem is if it is honestly disvlosed.
💯

It helps if one reads the words, & not just look at pictures….

I personally appreciate Spenc for all his effort getting new equipment made for old, discontinued, and unavailable parts.

I’ll wear my TB2 for life because the replacement bands he made, multiple people tried and failed - Spenc made it happen.

This is poor etiquette, and reporting on this is in poor taste.

Thanks a million I have helped so many people out here , and as for moaning about the price don’t think they have any idea how much it cost to make the tool and produce a quality product made in the U.K. 👍 thanks again good to be appreciated 🤝

Locked the thread for now.

Bottom line - It's against the rules "
3) Replica items are not allowed - To be clear Replica items refer to non-Oakley created items which contain the Oakley logo. Modified/Custom/DIY Oakley pairs (e.g those that are modified original pairs, or custom designs that do not include the Oakley logo) are allowed and should be labeled clearly."

This was voted on by the forum and this was the decision. I get people like custom items - that's fine as you can tell from this thread it's a mixed bag. Honest answer, it is illegal to create an item with the Oakley logo, and that is why we don't allow it. What happens in private is fine, but this site is responsible if we allow those illegal items to be traded on our platform.

Just for the record I own 4 of spenc straps 3 MM and 1 TB2. If it was not for Spenc I would have to cut my Livestrong TB2 strap but now it is preserved and I use Spenc's for wear. Same for my Dark Earth MM… the cryer here wants to sound holier than thou as if he is watching out for us but in fact is pi$$ed cause he can't sell his way overpriced OEM straps from the watches he slaughters and pieces out to line his pockets 3 fold the value of the watch as a whole. Not mention those fugly DT’s with non OEM parts he used that he labels as Oakley watches without disclosing the non OEM parts.

Keep up the good work Spenc cause without your service which is very clearly stated non OEM and disclosed as such we would have a bunch of no strap watches … sure not paying cryers chop shop the cost of a new whole watch to get his OEM rubber and then also have to buy the hardware he sells one piece at a time so by the time you have a complete strap setup it becomes stupid high cost...

If we are gonna whine about a valued member here then lets be sure the whole story is told...

BTW... 3 VERY nice clean looking watches for sale here at one heck of a fair deal... someone needs to grab them!

Fourth Gen means 2009 onwards. Box for First Gen, not Fourth.
