It's an inherent oddity, with Black Chrome, It can turn a salmon pinkish tone. Nobody knows the reason for it, but it's been sumised, it may have something to do with extended durations in extreme sunlight, 'bleach' the original colour or the paint compound is unstable in batches?..... Case in point:

And I would take the bottom one. In the gun world it's called Plum sometimes. I have some older Colts, Knights parts, and sights that have turned purple.

I consider it to be an 'off-shoot' colourway, but another solid colourway, none the less.

To the best of my knowledge, real ones do not include the word "Splice" on the ear stem rubber.
