Deadbolt Fake vs Legit
To be completely honest, this issue is what brought me to OF! I am so very grateful to have found this forum and appreciate all the valuable information I have found here! I truly enjoy everything this forum has to offer, so thank you all!
I have always loved the look of the Oakley Deadbolt's and wanted a pair badly, but I am always looking for a deal. I found a pair on eBay, the seller located in GB, they were new and I snagged them for about $90. Took forever to receive them, and afterward, I thought great, I finally have a pair. Later, researching on OF, I read a post from another member here, showing the Perfect Fakes he received, showing the the slight differences of the fakes.
After some time, I purchased two different pairs directly from Oakley. A pair of Kylian Mbappe and a pair of Fabio Quartararo, El Diablo's.
Here are the differences that I have found, in hopes that someone may learn from my mistake and avoid a bad purchase!
I have found that as the other member here stated, there is no printing on the nose bridge. Also, the nose bridge is a completely different shape!
The lenses do not fit in the frame properly, leaving a gap on the edges. Also, the lenses are fake, these are supposed to be Shallow Water lenses, they are not!
If you look at all three lined up, next to each other, you will also notice that the fakes are more flat, and the legit units have a curve that slightly wrap.
The Nose pads are completely different, and on the fakes they do not have small screws that the authentic have.
And lastly, the printing on the temples are totally different!
I hope this post helps someone not make the same mistake that I did!
These are not Prizm Shallow Water Lenses
Different Nose Pads
No numbers on fakes
Totally different shape nose bridge.
Lenses do not fit properly.
