I had to do a double take on that and I’m still kinda fooled. Scary stuff there if really a fake. Not sure if I’ve ever seen one that close. I suppose once I had it in my hands it might become obvious. Of course the seller could be just hiding any other tells.

I missed your initial post...I am still fooled . If it is fake, this is the very first fake MARS I've seen with a split orbital. Usually MARS (Gen 1?) fakes only have a little nub...no C-Ring. I have a fake that I got on purpose...to use as a crash test dummy a couple years ago. This is way too close. DANG....not good!

I just added in my replica meme. Not the best comparison pics but all I have handy...check out the C-Rings vs the Nub. Also the carpy nose bombs, and lastly the weird looking temples on the fake...oh and the lenses are flimsy plastic. So obvious when you know the tells and even more when a fake is in hand.

Dad found these pair like 5+ years ago. Recently the lens started to delaminate? So I tried ordering prizm black from Amazon Oakley store. But they did not fit. They were on sale 55 bucks. I am thinking I have fake frames or I got fake lenses. Or my “sample” jawbreakers won’t fit the replacement lenses. They’ve been durable I’ve dropped them a bunch and haven’t had any problems.

How good?

The “replica” I knowingly got off of Etsy back in 2023 was 105.00 as I recall. Was worth it to me cause I never had to test out stuff on a real Crater when I finally got one.

Well…real…a steal. A replica…even a good one too much.

I always wonder if they actually started getting decent would it be worth it for cannibalization but any fake I’ve touched was so bad it would never have worked anyway.

Good luck finding a replacement MARS nose bridge or orbital for a broken one these days. Not a picnic for any X-Metal for that fact.

I sure wish a legitimate company like Linegear could start making X-Metal parts…nose bridges alone would be a huge help.
