feels terrible to find out that the one i like among the collection is made out of the US. i hope this is not a fake!

Not fake. Do a search and you will see this is discussed several times

Those aren't original Romeos aka R1, but Romeo 2 aka R2. Hard to tell from the pics but they look legit from what I can see.

The look legit but can't tell 100% from those pics - need to see the inside of the nosebridge, a good shot of the earstem tips, screwheads on the hinges. Lenses from the wearer's perspective.

Also can't tell condition - scratches on frames? scratches on lenses? nosebridge tightness?

I'd say the asking price is not unfair if they're legit and all's in good condition. But loose nosebridge = $250 and it goes down from there with additional wear...

If instead of a 1 that's an I as in JI022309, that's a legit serial for a 1st gen plasma / ice Juliet.

But if you really want to tell if it's fake, you have to look at other stuff. See this thread:

Are these real? Gave $130 for them new on eBay. Matte black, ice iridium lenses. Included box, warranty card and papers.

In the one photo where I have the Oakley O logo up close, to the left, inside the hinge, quality isn't that great. Should I be concerned?
