Not that I would be a buyer at this price, just trying to hone my skills at spotting fake XX...
Oakley x-metal xx 24k Very Rare 3rd Gen.
Gold color not right, nosebridge pins look like flat head screws, serial number text looks too black... Right?
Actually they look legit, from what you can see.
Yes, the color doesn't look quite right, but that could just be the color balance on the camera used.
You can't tells from those pics about the pins, the flathead screw part is visible from the inside of the nosebridge and none of the pics show that.
Serial number is correct 3rd gen 24K XX, and there's variations on the serial color.
You can't really see the earstem tips either, except for a bit in one pic where they don't look flared. But another closeup of the hinge shows the correct hinge screw and a bit of the gold finish wear they were notorious for. And other details of the orbitals, like the orbital break, look legit. Also legit lens base tint; fakes often have a neutral base.
So overall there's nothing there that screams fake, some things that validate legitimacy, but no pics of the places with the most telling fake indicators.
And yeah, way too overpriced...
Thanks! I zoomed in on pic #10 for the pins, maybe it is just the way the light is reflected...
