The renders on O review aren't always 100% accurate, those are created long before the model is sold and changes happen. The etching is in the upper right corner of the right lens, it may not show up in the render. As for the Made in the USA, id need to defer to a Holbrook guy, I don't collect them so I only have a handful to reference. The reality is no one who creating fakes is going to the lengths of printing the signature and copying a bag to make them, they wouldn't be worth enough to put the effort in.

I found the same model on a forum — For Sale - Holbrook Shaun White Polished White/24K GOLD 9102-18

Am I right to think my pair of Holbrooks is a fake? It just seems really strange to me that there’s no “Made in USA” marking, and as you can see, there’s no etching on the lens either.

Pretty sure that they are authentic. I have not seen a fake yet that has the proper font for the word “Holbrook” on the ear stem as yours, but they could exist. Maybe my comrade @crazywayne311 could shed more light.

Thanks a lot for your reply! I hope the Holbrook expert can help determine the authenticity of these glasses. Lol, it seems like I have some kind of rare case, since usually it’s immediately obvious whether the glasses are genuine or not.

He has a HUGE Holbrook collection. I’m sure he could explain a lot. He’s still active on this forum, but he does not monitor it every day. Hopefully @crazywayne311 sees this post

Hi guys,
I was given this pair of sunglasses by my brother, he said he found them while cleaning out an estate. There was no case or anything else with them.

I have a feeling they are fakes, but want to be certain. We tried looking for the model online but couldn't find anything exact with clear frames, orange arms and light tint lenses.

The arm says DISPATCH II BD7858. the other arm says Made in USA CE.

I've only ever had one pair of Oakleys, gascans, but that was about 15 years ago.

Two biggest giveaways

1. That sku number isnt a standard oakley sku. They have a few specific formats for skus i.e OOXXXX-XX (sometimes OOXXXX-XXXX) or XX-XXX (like 05-XXX, 03-XXX, 12-XXX)

2. The ellipse on the lens. They never did that on any model except the older OO series wires. You might see something like that on prescription lenses from time to time. But never standard sunglasses lenses.
