Official Fakes/Possible Fakes Inquiry Thread (ARE THESE FAKE? POST FAKES HERE)

View attachment 160809 View attachment 160810 View attachment 160811 View attachment 160812 View attachment 160813 View attachment 160814 View attachment 160815 Hello I need some help from the experts. There was a truck driver that came in my work yesterday and needed some cash. He wanted 20 dollars for this pair of Straight Jackets and I jumped on it. Lenses and frames look great.
But after looking at some pictures on eBay I am wondering if I wasted my 20 dollars and bought a fake.
I am most concerned about that fact it says Oakley on the nose bridge. I don't think most do from pictures I have seen. I know nothing about Straight Jackets. Other than that they look great but I'm worried about deals to good to be true. Thanks guys!
These sir are fakes

Opinions? Sure
If you bought these from Amazon- and I mean Amazon and not a third party reseller- then I would say that they are 100% legit.
a.) Amazon is really, really hard for a vendor to get into
b.) Amazon is not going to risk the corporate relationship with Lux by partnering with counterfeiter
c.) As much talk of production switching to China as there has been on this forum it's very possible that the QC (or lack of it) is a result of that. Not China-bashing, just offering this as an explanation for changes in manufacturing finishing and QC.
My .02

They came from a 3rd party seller fulfilled via Amazon.

I've ordered a pair of Holbrook LX direct to compare. I'm not sure if there is any difference in the plastic quality used between the LX and the standard. My Frogskins are also LX and the quality is far superior to the Holbrooks i've just received.

Maybe I can use them to mow the lawn in or something. :(

I wouldnt even do that... if something flies up in your face these will shatter. The screws in the hinges and poor fit are the big giveaway along with a few others. Im guessing the icons are painted plastic instead of anodized aluminum?

Yes lol you are right they are plastic.
No more buying Oakleys from hard up truck drivers lol. I thought I was better at spotting a fake.
My first pair of fakes ugh
I will probably never see him again either. Maybe I can do something cool with them on the 4th of July. Like blow them up with a Cherry Bomb or something.

Hi,

I recently purchased a pair of Oakley Holbrook's from Amazon but i've decided to return them straight back as i'm not sure if they are genuine or not.

The plastic feels really cheap compared to my Frogskins, the finish is really bad on the plastic moulding also - there are ridge marks all the way around the frames and lens (from plastic moulding) - all other Oakleys i've ever owned do not have this and the molding is smooth.
That's pretty much my complaint about the polished colored frames. They feel more plasticy and hollow.

The Holbrook is notorious for having mold lines.

Hi guys, a bit of help please... is this Pitboss authentic?

Not sure about those orange lines on the side of the orbitals from the inside view?

The Made in USA looks a bit off but all else fits. It also has the A on the inside of the hinges.

Thanks for your kind review.
